At Platform 80 Adobe Premiere Pro is our editing software of choice and it has become the industry standard BBC approved editing software. The Platform 80 team have been using Adobe Premiere Pro since the early days before it had the PRO title added to it’s name. As London editors we actually started editing tape to tape starting and stopping VHS tapes to edit. When Adobe Premiere came onto the scene it changed EVERYTHING!!! Suddenly non-linear editing (that’s editing using a computer not tape to tape) opened up vast options to us and made available edits we could only dream about doing in the linear tape to tape world. We now consider ourselves experts in Adobe Premiere Pro, we use the CS suite on a daily basis and all our London Video Editors use Adobe Premiere Pro as the editing software of choice. Although we are well versed in other packages too like Final Cut Pro, the speed at which we can edit in Adobe Premiere makes it a non contest at the moment, but like everything in this industry, things move very fast we may change our minds in a few months!
